Case studies that tell the broadband story as it is.
Sometimes it's all too easy to let the spiel pass over you... after all, it's knocked up by men in braces with pony tails called Nigel isn't it?
That's why, at Emidlands, we decided that the best way to get the benefits of broadband across was to put the emphasis onto you and people like you... we know that once you've tried the technology on the road show truck you'll not look back. But what about over the long term? The marketing men never tell you about what goes wrong when you've had the kit for a few weeks and the road show has long rolled on by that point.
But we had a thought... why not give the technology away to a bunch of volunteers and get them to report back? So we did.
The Emidlands Broadband for All free trial is being held in conjunction with The Leicester Mercury, Nottingham Evening Post, Lincolnshire Echo, Derby Evening Telegraph and Mansfield Recorder. In total twenty eight free broadband connections have been given away to a combination of business and residential consumers for a period of six months.
The 28 volunteers featured on this page will have the opportunity to experience first hand, the power of broadband... meet them, read their impressions and see what they're doing with the technology.
